I modified a Powerglove to use it on PC; using C++ I programmed it for translating the detected spatial coordinates into MIDI messages. Now I'm gonna optimize the software in order to play synth with my band Simmetry.

  • I posted the new video, please check it out

  • is the sync of the video off or does it just not work very well? no offense intended. looks like a killer idea. but it just doesn't look responsive at all...

  • no offense at all: I'm still developing! about your question: both things! video is slightly off-sync 'cause I recorded/encoded on the same machine which was running the "Powerglove2MIDI" software. In addtion, there's a ~20ms delay caused by error correction routines and a little, additional delay caused by low-level MIDI calls. In the end, the glove itself is definitively slow. I'm optimizing the error routines and MIDI calls; soon I will post a new video showing the improved results!
