Books and Me - Prof. Pumla Dineo Gqola

Dr Gqola is associate professor in the School of Literature and Language Studies at the University of Witwatersrand, where she also heads the Humanities Writers Residency. She holds two Masters degrees: one on South African literature (University of Cape Town, 2000), and another in Colonial and Postcolonial Literature (cum laude, University of Warwick, UK 1999). She graduated magna cum laude with a DPhil in Postcolonial Studies in 2004 from the Ludwig Maximillians University in Munich, Germany. Dr Gqola was 2006 Ruth First Fellow, formerly board member of the Centre for Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR).
