Instructions for a simple face mold using PolyGel-35 Brushable Rubber. I used PG35 for this mold but you could also use one of the 74 series rubbers such as 74-30. If you use 74 series rubbers you will need to thicken the liquid rubber to a paste with either cab-o-sil or polyfiber.

As mentioned in the video a plaster lifecast needs to be sealed so that the rubber does not bind in the pores of the plaster. Shellac or Murphy's soap oil thinned with water work great as sealers.

See part 2 for mother mold instructions.

  • may I ask what u mix with polygel 35?

  • @davidtaidawei Polygel35 is a 2 part rubber compound so you mix equal parts A and B. For more information check out the DVDs on our webstore or download the PDF manual on our webstore.

  • Lol viewer 88,888. I want to make myself a Freddy Krueger mask, but I obviously don't have that face structure. Any help or tips as to how I can go about doing this?

  • @dragonholder411 We have several videos about silicone and some short cut mask tips. Check out our "silicone mask making" video.

  • I'm just curious I want to lifecast my hands and use them as wearable gloves would it be better to use the platinum cure silicone? And what molding agent should I use?

  • Yes, platinum cure is best for skin contact applications. If you need a core mold use ultracal 30 or 15 series resin.

  • amazing tutorial video... i learned a lot... thanks for sharing... :)

  • hello, can you please make a video about how to cast bones, or a skeleton? Thanks so much. you videos are the greatest.

  • The cast was from a face cast using alginate and plaster bandages. PG 35 is NOT safe on the skin!!!

  • how did you make your plaster model, did you use alginate on your own face? or is this stuff safe to use on yourself?
