Hey guys, a couple of people have asked me if I could do a walk through my new recording setup. I've been promising to do it for a couple of weeks or so now and finally got round to it.
If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

  • Like your sound-booth solution man. I might do a similar thing with my attic; getting a cab up there is gonna be a mission though!!

  • @amberience Haha rather you than me lol, its bad enough getting it up these stairs.

  • Nice video Adam, I really liked the bit when you went through your mics saying what instruments they're suitable for etc. There's hardly any videos on around that actually talk English about stuff like that, most people expect you to know their weird techy language haha.

    Keep 'em coming mate!

  • @Conor4049 No problem mate glad you found it useful. I actually have a free guide to microphones on my page at adamironsideDOTcom if you wanted further reading.

  • Great Vid Adam, Thanks. I liked cutting the back out of the Marshall cab for the mic. When recording from the marshall cab, are you pading the back of the amp at all, I have seen this done a few times and it seems to give a warmer texture to the tone. As for equipment for the studio, I did not see the compulsary Lava Lamp anywhere.

  • @ascp67 Haha I broke the last lava lamp I had.

No I have not heard of padding the inside of the cab, I will give it a go for sure though cheers.
