@Brecconable Hundreds mate they weren't always known as the Royal Irish Regiment. in 1992 they merged with the Royal Irish Rangers. Loads of history in the royal irish regiment mate. The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, The Royal Ulster Rifles, The Royal Irish Fusiliers. They are now known as the Royal Irish Regiment now though.

Washington and his administration to avoid such a pact. No one is denying that. Nor should we. But the sheer fact that in two World Wars and Vietnam our country has come to the assistance of France. The French govt has not joined NATO and only snubbed and thumbed their noses at our requests for help. That is what most American people do not appreciate.

That's a poor generalization. Very poor indeed. Americans do not ridicule all French. And yes, France did help America with it's independence, however, it was the Court of Louis 16th that facilitated us. Not the revolutionaries who had overthrown his court, and who would have only succeeded in destroying our infant country had we sided with a movement that promoted the downfall of all monarchies. No European nation would have stood for such then. And it was a wise decision made by . . .

About the band, there is still a full instrumental band but unfortunatley on this occation the rest of the band were held up on the ferry from Ireland and didnt get to the parade until it was over. They did play for the officers and their good ladies at the officers mess though. I hope that answers your question.
