A stackup in pit road causes Elliott Sadler to get major damage, which causes the front end to catch on fire for a few seconds. Reed Sorenson also gets some major damage from the incident.
@LaveaFirmis oval tracks seem simple but can provide a challenge some of the older tracks such as Kentucky,Daytona before 2011 because Daytona was repaved in 2011,Darlington etc are very old and bumpy check out the 2003 Darlington finish with Ricky Craven and Kurt Busch tied for closest finish in Nascar history the one that its tied with is 2011 Aarons 499 check out both finishes there really close!
@Hendrickfan54 but of course saying that tracks like monaco as challenging as they maybe to the drivers having such a narrow slow track makes it so hard to pass its a procession not a race. But they wont stop using it because of the money it brings in "sigh"
@Hendrickfan54 right now we're getting some were because due to NASCAR being almost no existent in England and Rally, F1 and so on being what seems like more world-wide I know very little of any of these oval tracks no matter who races on them and the fleeting shots you get of them make them seem almost identical. Though what little I have seen of it watching interviews with drivers who've raced on both it seems like rallying and "normal" race tracks seem more challenging from what I've seen
@LaveaFirmis pack racing 4 wide 5 wide 200 mph personally i dont like to see big crashes but if u do plate tracks have big crashes and airbourne crashes 50+ lead changes and thats at the line meaning there is actually more like 100+ lead changes in a race and the tracks have 4 corners most nascar tracks are a oval but the corners are different in many ways ex: turn 1 might have a bump and turn 4 might not the high groove might be good in 1 but not in 4 etc... there are many differences
@Hendrickfan54 yeah 55mph is the same but a race car is designed to go much faster than a road car and as such is designed to be safer at higher speeds so 55mph is a much smaller crash than the 100mph+ that the race car is designed to take, which is why I was surprised to see fire at such a low speed RELATIVE to a normal accident in a race car. I watched a few laps of Daytona it seems like the same straight and corner just in a different place. You didn't give me a reason why there better though
@LaveaFirmis its NASCAR not F1 or any other road course racing series NASCAR was created on ovals and there are plenty of tracks that are better than most road courses watch any Daytona or Talledega race Martinsville Bristol Darlington Richmond and even homestead and there ovals they have 4 corners not 2 and what u said about there meant to be fast? do u realize how stupid that statement is 55 Mph is the same weather im in a racecar, towncar or shopping cart its still 55 Mph and it is still fast
@Hendrickfan54 I dont hate it by any means theres just 2 things: having cars going that fast right next to concrete from wall and from the past seems a little on the dangerous side and if you can explain to me how doing a hundred laps round the same 2 corners is a one up on say the circuits Montreal or Melbourne I'd love to hear it

@LaveaFirmis oh a nascar hater that explains your ignorance....

@LaveaFirmis It was nothing but a freak accident. Small engine fires (or any fire for that matter) rarely happen anyway.
