Brewers Best: Oktoberfest home brewing kit final product review
C-
A: 4.5/5 I really like the way this looks. The color turned out exactly as I had hoped. Amber body with red and yellow edges, white fluffy yeasty head. Little CO2 nucleation.

S: 1/5 It doesn't really smell like beer, and doesn't smell good at all. Fruit + Yeast + Alcohol - malts - hops.

T: 2/5 Light hop character, dominated by fruity esters and alcohol. Malts are basically indistinguishable. Easy to drink, but no real strong notes.

M: 3/5 Light bodied, crisp, nothing special.
Great Lakes Christmas Ale clone home brew review
A-

Recipe
1lb 40L Crystal Malt
1lb wheat malt
1lb lager malt
3oz roasted barley
8oz Dingemans Belgian Special B 145L
8oz 20L Muntins Carpls Malt

7lb light malt extract

2 oz cascade hops @ 60 mins

.25 oz cascade @ 30 mins
1 oz fuggles @ 30 mins
1 oz Kent Goldings @ 15 mins
1 oz fuggles 1st dryhop
1 oz cascade 2nd dryhop

2 lbs honey
2 tbs cinnamon
2 tbs ginger
2 cinnamon sticks throughout fermentation

Note* Priming sugar: If you are using corn sugar, do not use more than 8 oz per 5 gal. I prefer corn sugar to cane sugar because I think that cain sugar sweetens the beer to much.

  • You certainly looked like you enjoyed the last drink. The alchol kicked in BURP. Brewing is so simple, cheap, enjoyable at the end. It's all experimental and fun. Yeast, water, malt, sugar, hops and your own flavouring............... it's better than commercial beer mate. Keep on YOUTUBING.

  • @darkseers Thanks very much for the nice comment. Your christmas stout sounds very good!

  • Great video! Keep posting.

  • Its not a lager

  • It is something you should put in your cereal bowl in place of milk for your Fruit Loops. I'D do it

  • I hate it when people just drink it instead of letting it sit on the tongue like how it should be properly appreciated.

  • @TheTater1984 thanks for comments, I am from eastern Ohio, I get my stuff from Blackswampbootleggers store here in BG they have an online site you can order supplies. They actually re-sell stuff from midwest supplies out of Kent, Ohio. Its good, reasonably cheap. What kinds of stuff do you brew?
