The world's first all-gay politically correct a cappella group doing its version of the doo wop classic, which they were not allowed to do for their appearance in Jonathan Demme's film Philadelphia. Can you guess why?

  • im straight, and i have no problem at all wth gays, i agree with ppls choices n accept them.. ok so this song is beautiful.. i love, if u appreciate music, u should love this

  • Movie? Are you referring to Philadelphia? That's the first time I had seen or heard them. Mr. Sandman was also the song they performed. Same popular lineup as they have here, Jon, Jimmy, Cliff , Aurelio and of course Michael Callen.

  • I think Vito Corleone said it best . . . . .

YOU CAN ACT LIKE A MAN! What's the matter with you? Is this what you've become, a Hollywood finocchio who cries like a woman? "Oh, what do I do? What do I do?" What is that nonsense? Ridiculous!

  • But this was performed in the Philadelphia movie. I watched it last week. That's how I found out about this group.

  • 3 people are assholes.

  • I have an autographed CD from when they played the San Diego Gay Pride Festival... 1984? I was head of security and had to deal with the fundies ("fundamental christians" that were harassing our visitors/attendees)... they were great! Michael Callen died shortly after of AIDS-related illness.... I believe!

  • @OeditpusRex alright, I can see that. And yes, they've got a lot of talent; plus I love their sound

  • @memejawd I'm guessing the flamboyance was a bit of self-parody, and I love that in any form. These guys are not only talented, they're adorable as hell. :)

  • I love you Mike... I have since I was 4! You are all awesome musicians!

  • I don't like these guys because of the fact that they're gay, I like them because of their style which when it comes down to it has nothing to do with them being gay. Music is music; and if it truly is music then gays, straights, guys, gals, youngers and elders can enjoy it.

I do think they were showing flamboyance a bit overly-much, but they are still one heckuva group!

  • I love this group and some of the NEATEST PEOPLE I have ever known are in the glbt community. Gay or Straight, Love is Great!

  • They're so pleasantly gay :)
