Great Video, I'm sure Jonathan Larson would have loved the performance. RIP Jonathan

@Ho1ySmokes it could also be written as a stage note. or it could also have been the actor asking the director saying something like "is it all right if i smile here because it just seems too depressing" or something like that

My favorite song from the show! In my opinion, Stephen Grey nails the sentiment, reminiscing about a couple of past events in Jon's life, with best his friend, Michael; events that relate to this moment of deciding into which direction Jon's life will now lead. Although he knows Michael's destiny has taken a final turn that will take him out of his life, Jon has an epiphany. Stephen expresses the bittersweet joy of the moment. Jon decides that his own destiny leads him to stay with his music.

@Ho1ySmokes It's something called playing the opposites so you don't seem like a whiny pansy. Maybe you'd go farther and have more friends if you were a bit more positive :)

great singer
as a performer he could work on his energy and a bit on the movements

this song is sad :(

this song is so true

beautiful.
Sounds fine, but I am afraid that the situation is missed. Coming into this song Jon has just learned that Michael is HIV+ and he is singing this a broken down piano in the park, why all the smiles? Looses the sentimentality of what should be an emotional stirring piece.

Don't you smile when you reminisce?
