  • hey how about spare mags cant seem to find any

  • Just an FYI for those interested (as I am in this great .22 caliber pistol,) it also comes in two other editions; a carbon fiber limited edition of 1,500 which looks incredible, (I really like the look of carbon fiber personally, some folks don't,) and a special edition available with custom S&W wood grips and a fluted barrel, which looks very 'handsome' I guess is a good word for it. Both available through TALO distributors, Inc. [not a spokesperson, just fyi is all.] Great review btw, thanks.

  • The weight is actually close to the all steel Ruger Mk III with 5.5 inch barrel which weighs in at 42 oz and 45 oz with 6.8 inch barrel. The Mark III is drilled & tapped to add a scope base. This Smith 22A has a 7 inch barrel and comes with an integral full length scope base which adds weight- but very useful. If you want a lighter quality pistol the Ruger 22 45 polymer frame pistol in 5.5 inches weighs 33 oz, and it has a thinner profile, but Ruger does not offered it in a 7 inch barrel.

  • I got mine for 220 on sale today. Thanks, this was great review.

  • very thorough & informative

  • Mine WILL dry fire without a magazine in. I found this out while watching your video!

  • You shouldn't have a death grip on the thing. Personally I enjoy the magazine release quite nice, actually. It's right where my ring finger goes and it's only a very small motion to change it.

Also, yes it does weight quite a bit compared to other pistols, but what's important is that the pistol is front heavy. Quite a few pistols that size have most of their weight in the grip, while the S&W has more weight in the barrel. It lets you use gravity to your advantage when sighting up.

  • Just bought my s&w 22A. I love it but I didn't get the best deal on it. I should've done more homework. Still a good gun though.

  • My Ruger 22/45 works all right with Remington ammo, but yeah it's pretty unusual.
