"I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour but heaven knows i'm miserable now!"
I love this phrase. It's the post-happiness feeling one gets after a nice time, especially if there was a drunken hour. Slowly melancholia settles and the emptiness describes the miserable time. Loneliness makes it worse. Even getting a job doesn't make things better! Damn, how I love this!

I love how The Smiths don't use common rhyme on rhyme lyrics, but use metaphorical poetry. It's beautiful.
