We use a Conikron hob cutter manufactured by Schnyder company. We'll find out about the cycle time.

You need a polygon-cutting softwarein order to syncronise spindle and gear hobber revolutions. The spindle is running continously and gears are machined in one cut.

  • i cant believe that works withouth making the gear helical. the cutting tool has enough clearance and is going fast enough to make its cut and get out of the way? is the spindle actually stepping over each time and its just to fast to see it, or is the spindle spinning at constant velocity???

  • Handy if you only want to make a limited number strait bevel parts. What's the cycle time? What type of cutting tool?
