Glencoe has the highest number of teardowns. Glencoe was the hardest hit by the the teardown phenomenon on the North Shore. In one year there were over 40 homes torn down and replaced, which led to a bad market in Glencoe. Now in Glencoe, which by Chicago Magazine is Chicago's most desirable suburb, has the hottest market. It is only going to get hotter. In 2008 there are only 4 new home projects. There are stil several homes from 2007 on the market, but they will dissapear by July.
