Ah the tell tale look of the 917, the hole in the back pockets. When the earlier versions came out, they had trouble handling, but when they lost the tail so to speak this car ate them ALL for breakfast lunch AND dinner!I had heard the reason for the open rear was to stop the rear from lifting? Not sure if it is true, but seems logical. What a beautiful car, in a MEAN LEAN BAD ASSED way!. Now how about a video of it on a track, gloves off?!! That is always impressive! MovieF> Lemans my favorite!

Silencers aside it is still a fine replica. Have you thought of filming the car in detail so we can appreciate the work and effort that has gone into building it? And maybe a look at the engine...?

Even if there a few details that aren't quite right, this Porsche fan has put his money where his mouth is an I'm quite jealous. Yeh, the silencer/muffler looks crap. But hey it's pretty cool.

@nickaldersonoxford - Thanks for Your words. Sorry for the silencer but for two times a year of street use there is no great design neccessary. It was the easiest way to get my 917 street legal. It is the first and only street legal 917 in Germany since 1973. You take the silencer away for the race track in only 20 seconds. And there You have the real use of my car, and that with great fun.
