@nintendo007 i use to think like that.. till i bought a ducati.. over rated?? umm no..
slower than a japper in a straight line?? yer for sure.. but the first thing i noticed with my duc is way better handling and way better brakes.,. and alot more torquier.. so no they arent over rated, just over priced lol

@RX7DVL thing with higher spec dukes is just that, their OE spec is hella higher than your jap litre/6'rs. so definately handling is a dream on a showroom spec duc, 0whereas its bland as feck on a jap bike. but their like anything italian rly, pretty enough n works well, for a while ;p n the torque is the difference ofcs in the engines, 4's are peaky, 2's are like a wet cat off the line.

You realise comparing these two bikes is pointless right. Now had you taken a 748 Ducati and a CBR600RR it would have been more of a Race. This only proves how good the Ducati monter is. If you wanted to race the Duc against something in its on class by honda then I would suggest the CBF600 or 1000. The Duc is in the Class with Hondas CBF Suzukis GSF Bandits and Kawasaki Z750 and 1000.

The Ducati "Monster" is a Urban Bike not a racing bike HAHAHA I wouldn't get to excited for the Honda! It might as well been racing a Vespa Scooter! HAHAHAA Now if you want a real race then it should have raced against something in the Ducati Superbike Catagory: Entry Level Vs. Entry Level.

@MegaTokkie You understand that Rossi's bike isn't the standard production bike sold to the public, right? If you check the SBK Race category (basically Standard production bikes) Ducati Won 2011! Do your homework noob.

By SBK you mean superBIKE, not superSPORT, right? Indeed the Ten Kate 600RR's are in no way dominant in the superBIKE class, whereas the ducati monster's nephew used to kick some Foggi ass back in the 90's.
I will try to update the wikipedia page about WSBK vs WSS, since their statements are clearly wrong. Or maybe you could do that, obviously being an authority on the subject??
