Just great!

I think her performance in "Emma" was her best, but it's very rarely shown.

Reminds me of somebody.......timeless humor......

for those interested, I've just posted Marie Dressler Oscar winning performance in Min and Bill (1930). just go to my channel or I'll also try to put a video reply.

I love this woman! Why do they never show her work on TCM here in the UK? The only films I've seen her in are Dinner at Eight and Anna Christie. I'd love to see more of her films, especially Min and Bill. You guys in the US get classics, we get the same repeats.

Marie Dressler was obviously one of a kind. There's been no one quite like her since and there probably won't be. She was already past sixty when she peaked and won her Oscar, and went on to make a couple of later films. She died not long thereafter.
She stole "Dinner at Eight" from everyone else in the cast, and it was a high powered cast indeed.

She makes a wonderfull Queen! Her costume and court are a little over the top, but what fun! I'm so glad we have this unusual video to appreciate her rare comic talents!
