Pilums should be used mainly for throwing due to their lead head that bends on impact of the enemies shield. It'd be better to see them fight with proper spears / gladiuses?

@DALLASot , tho, it was a great melee weapon and it was stable as hell. when in combat they used to swing with it to cut.

A Pilum was the stationary weapon for the aux's.
They where ment to be used as a spear. = both melee and thworn ..

Thats wrong.. when a pilum was thorwn and got stuck into the ground , very deep, when a enemy tries to pick it up again , the top will drop and the pilum will break.

Obviously this game can't be that realistic, since the pila breaks on impact to prevent it from being thrown back
