This is a good info segment. There may be something to prevention, however, I've had great success w/stretch & hold techniques in the upper arm, shoulders, back, neck & some Alexander techniques + strengthening wrist/arms. In my case, it wasn't about immobilization. Met w/sports physiologist who made me realize de Quervain is not a localized condition. Tired everything except surgery & recommend doing your homework and don't jump to shots, surgery or bracing. More later, if interested.
i had i operation last august 2011 for dqt why is it i still feel the same pain...specialy every morning as i wake up... any suggestion what to do next...i
@halong08 I'm not a mom lol, but I had this pain in my thumb finger. And I was looking around at videos I saw your post. And it does work. Going from hot to cold a few times did help the finger alot. So appreciate you posting this thx G
My chiropractor suggested putting heat (as hot as you can take) for 3 minutes then immediately put cold on the tendons (as cold as you can take) for 3 minutes. It's the difference in temps that promote healing. Also, use a topical anti-inflammatory cream or gel (Arneca, etc.) as needed.
I just had surgery for this yesterday.
