  • Why didnt the flaps retract fully?

  • @fs9lover I noticed that as well. Maybe they just forgot, but that seems pretty unlikely.

  • @FrozenFlame333 sometimes if the runway is long enough the pilots wont retract them fully cause they know they can stop :)

  • @mickhasbigballs Sorry, you've gotten me confused. Pilots are required to retract the flaps and spoilers during the post-landing checklist, so what does the length of the runway have to do with anything?

  • @FrozenFlame333 i do not think it b.c they forgot, its due to the weight , speed and length of runway they had. if the captain didnt think it was necessary, they would usee full flaps

  • @familyguy958 It's not the actual landing that I'm referring to, it's the way the pilot left the flaps down after taxiing off the runway. As far as I know, pilots are required to retract the flaps during the post-landing checklist; the flaps were left in the landing position all the way to the gate and even after the engines were shut down.

  • @gloomyoutlook lmao

  • @mickhasbigballs

    lol@your name.

  • @FrozenFlame333 Pilots actually don't always retract flaps because it saves energy from AC. They can only do that in warm places though :)

  • i just read the comment and sorry for such a lecture. it is weird they forgot to retract them fully... maybe they..idk thats weird

  • @FrozenFlame333 Retracting the flaps and spoilers is all on depending on factors because the longer the runway the more stopping time they have, and the smaller the runway least time to stop so slower speed needed. Well thats what i was told just to let you know, because im a flight attendant so some of us have to have minimal flying skills incase the pilot or co-pilot got ill, so we take over and know the basic's of landing and taking off. So thats when i got told.

    thanks
