Fighting Stoats in my garden

A family of stoats swept through the garden like a wave of death and enjoyed rolling around on the grass until they were scared off by one of my cats.

do you trap them im sure at the farm its what we trap in a fenn mark 6

A Fenn in a stone tunnel is a good way to control them but I tend to leave them around my place as I don't shoot the rabbits there so the stoats do a bit of natural control. Also, we often get rats at the end of my drive where the birds are fed so the stoats do a clean up job there too.

When I get round to getting chickens, my policy may change as stoats can be murderous little buggers.

Same family but smaller, quicker and deadlier.

Yes, but a weasel is weasily recognised and a stoat is stoatally different.

@hcoboyinmi there are from the same family (marten) but a ferret is a pet and more related to the polecat
