Do you still work at Walgreens? A lot of things have changed since '08! (The customers haven't though - they're either really friendly or really nasty.) I say BRAVO to you for sticking up for your co-worker and taking charge of the situation when the manager obviously chose to stay out of it. As employees we shouldn't have to put up with that kind of abuse from customers - and it really is abuse!
I hope things have calmed down for ya since then. :-p

it means because she is upset no matter why, walgreens stands behind there customers not there employees and she will get a 20.00 gift card for her troubles.

Hey Cindy! I know you are over your old lady situation, but I find the best thing to do is to kill them with kindness. That way you can have the satisfaction that your life is better and more fullfilling than their life. Besides, is that lady really worth it? I know I would have better things to do than to entertain someone who is just hating life. Just a thought.

I work there too and I have a ton of stories like that. At my store, the managers are even worse than the customers.
Walgreens' motto is that the customer ALWAYS comes first....yet we get treated like that (in your story) and half of the managers are gossiping behind your back.
Now, maybe this isn't the case for all managers, but with mine...they think theyre big stuff cause theyre managers...when half the time theyre incredibly stupid.

Hi I work at walgreens as well, but I don't think putting personal manner during work is good. Try forgive it and forget it... Do the best to a customer and they will turn back and think of the good parts. But the decision you've made is still okay :)
