I have this radio and programmed it about 1 year.. I wasn't thinking at the time and I put a program password on the radio.. It has come time for me to update some channels and i cant remember the programming password. therefore I cant read or write to the transceiver. Do you know how i can retrieve the password?

Don't forget about the "W/N" setting. We're getting close to the Narrowband deadline, You might want to check with your county's radio shop to make sure the frequencies are wide (25KHz) or narrow (12.5KHz). Regardless, all GMRS/FRS channels should be set to "Narrow".

Ok I was just wondering I have the 2180 and didn't know if I needed a license or anything to program radios

@yote548607 Very nice radio btw! Nope, No license required for programming only for the frequency if you transmit or intend to transmit on it. They work great for monitoring. if you need any help with programming just message me.

@yote548607 Thanks for watching! I bought the software from Kenwood (I can email the link to you if you'd like) Any commercial radio shop would be capable of programming these-and me of course.
