Bottom line is, this girl is very happy doing what she's doing, and has great talent doing it (obviously).  People who use this opportunity to hate on the North Korean govt. are being intellectually dishonest, since their own governments are also corrupt. The government in North Korea is terrible, I agree. But I'm sick and tired of people pointing at others and telling them how corrupt they are, especially Americans. The U.S. is the most imperialist country on Earth right now.

Oh yeah, to you guys that complain about N. Korea's policies, fuck off and let them do their thing. Plenty of countries have their tyrannical cruelty, but the product of North Korea is actually quite spectacular. You should all appreciate this over the child prostitution and slavery going on in southeast asia.

@JRCrowley Don t you think that north koreans themselves are fed up with this "happines" message all the time?? all this performances when things aren t okey at all??? the same in China during the cultural revolution..a lot of hardship, massmadness and even in some parts famine and then these displays of happy people like the "east is red"..noticed last time that I was in China(Guanzhou) that streetproganda has all but vanished..instead there is advertisment??

One of the good thing out of this regimen is that they are producing extremely musically talented children. It's good to see these kids are encouraged in their musical talent. I admire North Korean kids musical talent.

@Ecamarillo Have you never read any of the thousands of first-person narratives of defectors? Done any basic research on the living conditions in North Korea? No, ordinary people in North Korea are not happy, even if they don't know any other life. Because to start with, for many of them there is no life at all! Millions died in famines; thousands upon thousands die in prison camps. Freedom doesn't guarantee a happy life, but it does allow there to be a chance for one.
