I understand what you are saying because I got a mother of her kind.
Just like Wiezero Almaz, a poor mother who has gone through unbearable LONELY agony in allien lands, I'm sure my mother would be overwhelmed with all the attention she has NEVER seen before.
As you can see it in her endless tears, besides the modesty, there's a deep seated life-time pain EXPLODING like a time bomb, from her wounded heart, that has been piling up for decades ever since she left home.

@BahreNeGash It is a different culture. People don't show off what they did. It is between her and her god. she was raised to be modest and kind. That is her nature. I understand what they are trying ot do. It was in good spirit.

Come on now,,, give her workers & Good Morning America a credit for recognizing the lady.
First, I'm NOT even sure if the Mother knew what's going on.
Then, I can understand her being overwhelmed with all the attention & the emotional toll of all the years, the mother probably would NOTknew how to respond.
While I'm happy for her achievements, I understand her painfuljourney & her difficulty in responding.
Let's enjoy the good in man kind.
