Madness - The Prince 1979

With a rocksteady beat

An earthquake is erupting
But not in Orange street
A ghost dance is preparing
You got to help us with your feet
If you're not in the mood to dance
Step back, grab yourself a seat
This may not be uptown Jamaica
But we promise you a treat
Buster bowl me over with your bogus dance
Shuffle me off my feet
Even if I'll keep on running
I'll never get to Orange street
So I set it up myself to say
For the man who set the beat
So I'll leave it up to you out there
To get him back on his feet

Buster bowl me over with your bogus dance
Shuffle me off my feet
Even if I'll keep on runnin'
I'll never get to Orange street

(Instrumental)

Bring back the
Who is the
We want the

Madness when they were good, before they turned all commercial.

They were good, but not a patch on the Specials

Plenty of people will buy whatever is marketed in their faces, whatever is considered to be fashionable to listen to - successful music hasn't necessarily become so because of it's own winning merits. In most cases marketing money makes hits

If Lee Thompson wasn't acting in this video and instead just being real, I seem to read an attitude brewing in his face. His projection is markedly off the page as his bandmates who are totally in the spirit of the gig and enjoying themselves. He lightens up when it was turn for the sax to play. Still, I think he's pro. Just wondering if he and the other guys ever got into any loose corners with the team, alcohol or drug problems maybe?

btw, you are wrong by saying that the music gets crappier when a band goes commercial, but that's your personal taste, because no one is buying music they don't like, no matter how many dollars they pump in a commercial campain, crap is crap, but most of the time, millions of people buy their music, so who are you then to say it's crap, because a majority is thinking otherwise, so it's only about personal taste.

that's your personal taste, but outhere there's a real world where you have to struggle to make a living, and only the happy few get a chance to become rich,

and if you from a working class family, you turn commercial in a heartbeat, that's for sure. Another fact is that most succesfull commercial artist start to work on real different music they personaly like when they get older and have the time and money tot do whatever they want, and not in a commercial way.
