    Football NOT Soccer

  • @FALC0NKNEEWe need more goals from outside the box and set pieces. Van Persie hasn't scored from a free kick set piece in a while, but he has that ability and technique in his bag. Hopefull Arteta will score some goals from free kicks as well. I don't know if Walcott's technique shooting has improved or declined. The thing about Henry is that he could score from anywhere. He was one of the greatest technical strikers of a ball I'll ever seen. Even Messi doesn't have Henry's shooting technique.

  • @FALC0NKNEE Henry was brought into the Monaco 1st team when he was 17 by Asene Wenger who saw his potential as a striker. When Wenger left the club he was moved to the wing and did well so he got called up for the France 98 world cup and played well on the wing for France. Then Juventus bought him in 1999 and played him on the wing. Wenger saw that he was really meant to be a striker so he brought him to Arsenal and had to convince him he was really a striker. It took 11 games before he exploded

  • @bolder2009 I remember hearing a story that when Henry first came to arsenal he couldn't shoot for shit, they need to teach Walcott the same thing I never see him take a decent shot out of the box

  • @FALC0NKNEE He will never be like Henry who had everything as a player. Complete package. But I think he should be playing in the centre foward position like he used to at SouthHampton and not on the wing where his final ball and decision making is inconsistent. He should have been tried through the middle in pre-season but Arsenal were wrapped up in the Fabregas saga aand Nasri drama rather than focussing on the tactics and stratergy to get the best out of the players that were'nt leaving.

  • He also should have won it for the 2003/04 season in which Arsenal went unbeaten in the premier league with strong competition from Manchester United who had strength in all areas. The football that Arsenal played that season is some of the beautiful football ever played in the history of English game. They were far more direct than they Arsenal of recent years, and could hurt teams in so many ways. Henry was supreme that season and dominated the league.
