It is wonderful to see Gurney Slade again after almost fifty years.Newley's creativity was truly astounding.'Gurney' was original and brimming with sophisticated wit, just like Newley himself in fact. How sad that he was light years ahead of his TV bosses and the show was terminated afteraboout six episodes

It is wonderful to see Gurney Slade again after nearly fifty years Original and brimming with wit. Newley always sought originality in everything he did. I suspect the fault was ours back then, television and it's audience couldn't deal with such a prodigious talent. If only someone would give it another airing......
