On the other side of the musical spectrum, here is the organ-accordion-guitar combo The Three Suns.
Composed of Al & Marty Nevins on guitar & accordion and Artie Dunn on organ, this hot trio were one of the big 'exotica' acts of the mid-1940's.
Later, Al Nevins would go on to be one of the founders of Aldon Music, publishing and producing such pop acts as Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Neil Sedaka, and many more.

It would be cool if all the ruthless ganstas would listen to this music. Imagine if you heard this from a car blaring this out instead of Hip Hop.

This piece of music was the inspiration for Alexander Courage's "Star Trek" theme.

The Frankie Laine arrangement actually has some elements of the Star Trek theme. If you type "Beyond the Blue Horizon sung by Frankie Lane" in YouTube (they misspelled his name) you will hear the version I am speaking of. At around 46 seconds in, there is a small part that sounds almost note for note like a bit of the theme!

I do like them, but they are the "whitest" group ever to exist.

That and the jazz classic "Out of Nowhere". Mix the two together, it's the Trek theme, yes.

As an organist who played the bars and supper clubs years ago, I find this video a nostolga trip when music had a melody line and you could tap your foot to it...something hard to find these days. Hope when I'm gone good music will make a comeback someday.
