wow, second life looks really cool but i also think theres a threat of people getting lost in it. i mean im already anti social and dont go out much and i play ff7 and other games but i am changing my life for the better. and this game looks a lot like a game thats very easy to become lost in.
Who is the big mouth yammering to Zuckerman? His snotty comments about a for profit company that made its fortune in pornography and real estate owning platform rights and his gratuitous comment about the French annoyed the hell out of me. The narrator (not Zuckerman) reveals his prejudice that somehow Google is okay but SL isn't??? Obviously this group loves to hear themselves talk.
Ethan Zukerman raised some interesting points - above all, the notion of an "open library." I don't know much about Second Life, but from his arguments, I think it's an important case study for the shifting pattern of the communication age.
