Floradania Innovation Award 2009 Winner for the best plant innovation - Trifolium repens 'Ebony'

The winner of this years most creative and innovative new plant competition was the nursery Gartneriet Råhøj, situated in Malling, for its Trifolium repens Ebony, which is a clover species as already mentioned. The reason for selecting this plant as the winner was explained as follows:

An outstanding new plant that moves nature much closer to us as consumers. The plant is well suited for both indoor and outdoor use in container arrangements.

The plant thrives from early spring to late autumn and tolerates frost down to -5° C. Like a Phoenix, it lays down its leaves during periods of frost but will raise them again when thaw arrives.
