Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston discusses her book "Firehorse Woman" with Frederick W. Marrazzo in 2004. Jeanne is also the author of "Farewell to Manzanar", a memoir of her personal experience of the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II at Manzanar.

As much as I feel sorry for all of those people who were ostricized in the destruction of Pearl Harbor, I seriously can't get into "Farewell To Manzanar." IDK why! I swear! I read it, and two pages later, I want to put it down and do something else. I mean I even like reading, but this is too real! Maybe it's just too depressing for me! IDK It's sad, but true!

I read Farewell to Manzanar in 8th grade year of high shool. I should go back and read it again.
