Megaman X5 rank route 1/8 - Zero to GA on Virus 1

Part of a series of videos where X and Zero reach MMH/MEH rank on what I believe to be (one of) the shortest route(s) possible.

It took quite a while to even 'begin' this rank path. You have to succeed in using the Enigma or shuttle without ANY parts. That doesn't sound so bad, but it is quite irritating to have to reset over and over again.

To make it worse for me, I read somewhere that the chance for the Enigma/shuttle to succeed in the Megaman X Collection was reduced. I couldn't pull it off in the X Collection but I got it in the ordinary version. And then, I tried again, putting 2 TVs side by side and doing the Enigma/shuttle sequences until one succeeded. Guess which one won?

At any rate, getting Zero to GA rank mostly depends on the boss fight. You pretty much have to pull off this pattern. If he does his pincer blob attack or enters his skull form too late, you will have lost too much time.

I make a few mistakes here as expected, but I managed to luck out on a no damage clear.

@KyperTrast I started a new game in MMX Collection, in Xtreme, and got a lot of game over to up the Level of Duff McWhalen, when I finally cleared the stage with Zero and back to Rank A, I tried to shot Enigma, it failed. But the Shuttle did it! So I got another game over to save it! What shoul I do to get the ultimate ranks by starting this way? I'm worried about zero that is now Rank A and Black Devil is in a high level now...

@luizmigueldoc Black Devil's extra life shouldn't cause too much of an issue I think, but to fix that Rank A might be tricky. I believe you'll need to modify the route a little. I use Dynamo 1 to rank X up to GA, so if Dynamo appears before X is SA, you can have X get to GA on Izzy Glow. And with Zero, you should be able to continue with a rank behind, and then maybe use Dynamo 2 to get Zero to PA/MMH, whichever comes first.

@luizmigueldoc just make sure to save Virus Stage 3, and Axl for MMH rank, and Dynamo 2 if possible

@luison410 as the description implies, a big amount of luck! Without any parts, it's still possible to get a successful Enigma/Shuttle hit, but as I said, I had to reset a lot

Thank you, you two, for helping the rest of us with getting top rank in the game with little info on it except from SOTNightboat, that mostly to you Luiz since that your way's more workable though I did it faster: X to SA on Skiver, kept it through Duff and Izzy, got GA on Squid, Zero to MMH on Dynamo, kept GA on Dizzy, to PA on Axle, then to MMH on Virus 3, and that it does work for X runs and Zero runs, but not for Maverick Zero runs, because of Zero's higher energy meter, huh friends :)?

@KyperTrast I finally got hte MMH rank with both! It was a pain trying to do with the save I said, so I tried again and luckly the Shuttle didn't failed! I've done this: kept the rank SA with Zero on Virus 1 (yeah, I can't do as you lol), kept the Rank B with X on Virus 2, got Rank A with X on Mattrex, Rank GA with Zero on Grizzly, PA with Zero on Dynamo, kept the X's A rank in The Skiver, Duff McWhalen and Izzy Glow, got SA on Squid Adler, GA on Dynamo and PA on Dark Dizzy...
