I disagree; often, an employee will defend a flawed policy of their employing body simply because it would impact negatively upon their job security to do otherwise. After all, if one depends on a certain source of income like, for example, a guitar (couldn't resist) or a job at an airline as their sole source of income, sometimes ensuring that one remains financially fluid has to come before one's own moral compunctions. It's called the real world and, yeah, it's a b***h.

An employee take on the morals of the company that pays them. When someone tries to stand behind devious policies I often will call the employee on the carpet. Emplyees of companies with slimey policies are tainted as well as the company.

An employee who represents unfair, unjust company policies is a sell-out & enabler; ENOUGH already of letting flunkies & stooges off the hook & not responsible for their complicity in passing the buck -- Corporations DEPEND on low-level flunkies to insulate upper management from their lack of leadership & unsatisfactory customer relations. Since United never challenged that baggage handlers were negligent & they caused the damage, on what possible basis did United refuse to reimburse Dave?
