Why would an island full of pirates even have a police force? Anyways, these people are dumber then dirt, they couldn't tell the difference between Guybrush's voice and Pegnose Pete's.

It seems a little silly that Pegnose Pete would show his face to Guybrush since he had a mask. It would be way too easy for Guybrush to recognize him later on.
