Our live Instant Response Dial group reacts to the Republican response to President Obama's State of The Union Address as delivered by Congressman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin's First District.

HOW TO VIEW: the three lines on the screen represent the real-time reactions of our group, which was comprised of equal parts Democratic (blue line), Republican (red line) and Independent (yellow line) voters. To track their responses, keep your eyes on the far-right of the graph as the lines fluctuate. The mid-point of the graph -- 50 -- reflects a neutral opinion, while anything above or below 50 represents positive and negative reactions respectively. Note: there are several points during the speech where all lines simultaneously return to 50 -- this is not a reaction to the speech but a reset of the dials after which they immediately begin reacting again.

  • @yakyakyak69 Im sorry that I am haveing a hard time communicating to you what I am saying but I will not say it again only refer you to the post I put up after you said this the first time.

The quote you refer to I feel helps my point more than yours- "has NOT UNLIMITED powers" dose not mean has NO power. Enumerate means specify, which indicates they do have some powers.

I think that you are further to the right than a conservative, somewhere between that and anarchist.

  • @li4death54

When forced, charity becomes REDISTRIBUTION which makes SLAVES of the taxed, DEPENDANTS of the recipients, TYRANTS of the powerful while killing FREE competition which lower's costs, causes innovation and increases the standard of living for ALL.

“Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated.”-Thomas Jefferson

Google: "Founding Fathers on Charity, Wealth Redistribution, and Federal Govt."

  • @yakyakyak69 choices deal with it without putting out your hand) isnt the people that we should help provide a safety net to. So if Im not a "REAL" conservative to you then Im cool with that.

  • @yakyakyak69 He never said we WILL provide a safety net for those who WONT provide for themselves. I am 100% against the welfare state I feel we live in now! But I am also for helping those that CANNOT help themselves (kids with no fam., old people, maimed vets., the disabled, etc.) is a goodthing that the Gov could HELP with (not run medacare, medacaid, wellfare, etc.). Giving dregy people money cause they make bad choices (we all make bad

  • @yakyakyak69 No, No. I know what neocons are I just felt you didnt cause there is nothing in the words you quoted that justifies you calling him that and I wanted you to explain it to me so I could understand you better. I consider myself a constitutional conservative. So I know what that is also.

Nothing was said about redistribution or fairness. "to HELP provide a safety net for those who CANNOT provide for themselves." is not Marxist.

  • @li4death54 You'll have to research the "New" Conservatives aka Liberal RINOs vs Constitutional Conservatives and Socialism in Social-ist Insecurity & Welfare yourself. There is LOTS of information on REAL conservativism vs Statist Liberalism & the nanny-state available.

Forced redistribution is Marxism NOT "fairness"!

REAL Conservatives know that Redistribution makes SLAVES of the taxed, DEPENDANTS of the recipients, TYRANTS of the powerful while killing FREE competition!

  • @yakyakyak69 It isnt a "social-ist safety net" (whom are you quoting when you say socialist safety net? cause he didnt say that.). Helping those that "CANNOT" help themselves, not wont help themselves, is not a socialist idea.

I do not understand why you called him a neocon cause of this. I do not see it.

  • “We believe government’s role is both vital and limited – to defend the nation from attack and provide for the common defense … to secure our borders… to protect innocent life… to uphold our laws and Constitutional rights … to ensure domestic tranquility and equal opportunity … and to help provide a safety net for those who cannot provide for themselves." - Paul Ryan's State of the Union comment.

Where is "social-ist safety net" in the Constitution?!?!?!?!

    NeoCON, RINO, LIAR!
