Firstly, there is nothing tacky about Spielberg and secondly, reguardless of the generosity that China showed sixty odd years ago, there are serious and infallible human rights violations being committed against its own people today. Spielberg had an obligation to make the decision that he did. He is a good man and a marvellous director.

What was done in Darfur... NOTHING!

What was done in Rwanda... NOTHING! (or actually the US vetoed the UN intervention)

What was done in The Democratic Republic of Congo... NOTHING! (5,4 million dead! What is in the news... almost nothing! who cares, apparently very few.)

What has been and will be done about North Korea... NOTHING! They can keep people camping in the happiest of all places... 3 months of this holiday will leave you dead or paralysed for life!

where are you from with bolshevik are you russian. china did not grow at all after 1949 mao idea's did not work at all only after 1992 china started to have gdp above norm. militarily you have been supplied by russia like the US supplies to isreal and then allows them to sell to other countries like India Sweden thats profit. That is not true. China grew economically and militarily since 1949. The saved North Korea from a multinational imperial force, and pushed them south. Would China have done this militarily under the old guard? Hardly. China was by no means any longer the third world country being raped by the Brits or U.S. The USA currently owes China over 200 billion. An Unlike the USA, China is not firing countless workers or half their teachers because they can't pay them.

Mao gave you the revolution but he was unsuccessful with it. china started to see growth only in the 90's thats 40 years after revo. china's contribution to the world!? what and dont say cheaper manufacturing. China began it's growth after the success of the Chinese Revolution, which did have to be protected by the USSR in it's infancy in the face of U.S/British threat. China makes to much contributions to the world for them to turn their backs on it, but if it makes you feel better they're still targeted by the USA. But the worlds largest army, the PLA, can defend China. Fortnuately, for Tibetans they'll never return to that sickening slave-system of "his holiness".
