What I love about this version (I do like the slow hymn version) is that, even in just the tune and beat, it's saying that, no matter what Satan may throw my way, I will be alright where it counts: in the soul.

I love this version & play it a lot. It is amongst my favourites - along with some of the more traditional.
It uplifts me & aligns my day onto a strong, positive, loving, more balanced setting.
Not all versions are for everyone. Though not to your taste, it is uplifting & a gift to others.

As a child, I remember singing this song with my family accapella style as that was the only way that was allowed. I value my upbringing that taught me reverence and an appreciation for music. However, I love to see my teenagers singing these same words, not with sadness and mourning, but with joy and happiness. They sing this as a song of praise. I want my kids to have the words to this song in their hearts no matter what the tune sounds like.
