@ORUPRANKSTAZ Actually, I'm guessing his cheeks are puffed because he's circular breathing. There are a couple times in long phrases where his cheeks go flat as he inhales, but *the sound never stops*. Look around the :56 or 1:05 marks. It might be an artifact of the recording, but I don't think so.

musically speaking I thought it'd made a lot of sense to put in some vibrato for the those long notes...
-
clarinets are allowed to do vibrato
-
im just a beginner but....... arent you not supposed to puff your cheeks like that?
-
I am serious considering switching to alto from the sop clarinet

There are only about 3 good pieces ever composed with Alto Clarinet solo in mind... two of which are Grainger's "Lincolnshire Posy" (our community band is playing at our next concert), and VonSuppe's "Poet and Peasant" (states 'alto sax OR alto clarinet solo, so the sax always gets it when we play it).

@Snowflake2217 Well said!
I know clarinets aren't supposed to do vibrato but those long notes would have been way awesomer with it, i swear.

@Fumbles9001 The only bad Alto clarinets are ones that are kept in poor shape or one that an incompetent player is playing. Both are a result of this fact:
High school students are retarded.
