The funny thing is, government never seems to be evil to conservatives when its buying guns and building up a military the size of the Soviet Union's forces, but whenever it tries to spend money helping people, then it suddenly becomes evil. The Republicans are fine with government telling you who you are allowed to marry, what medical treatments you can and cannot have, and tapping your phones, but to use that money for healthcare, THAT is what makes you a Nazi to them.

So, wait... he's "callous" because he says that he's going to help her out individually before he explains why he's against nationalized health insurance? It's too easy to throw the switch "YES" to spending your constituents' money. If Coburn thinks that government shouldn't intervene to do SOMETHING about the ridiculous per capita cost of medical care in the U.S., that makes him kind of dumb, not callous.

No , he is just a Republican whose purpose is to conserve wealth and the status quo for his class . The Dems might do something to help ordinary ppl , if they are not co-opted by corporatism . the problem is concentrated
