  • Hey moe is right. I have tried this, and keeping the right foot planted as long as possible, I can hit a penetrating long drive. After contact of course you can stand on the left foot to finish

    .

  • @Dreama40 You are 100% correct and the other item is he keeps his feet planted into the ground. If you watch Moe's right foot in other videos where the swing is full, you will notice that he is one of the few players ever to keep his right foot solidly anchored to the ground through impact.......CRITICAL!!! The "Secret is in the DIRT"!!!

  • Byron Nelson had that same move. That is probably why he won 11 tourneys in a row.

  • AS moe said he swung "into" his knees not "on top of" his knees as shown very clearly here, more of a lateral move than a rotary move. Moe was square at impact with his hips, knees and shoulders as compared to most modern day swingers with well cleared hips at impact, this is probaly one of the reasons he was so consistent.......

  • The strong LATERAL leg drive is perhaps the other reason why Moe kept the club online for so long after impact and why he was so consistent coupled with a swing plane that minimised his spine tilt during the downswing because of his onplane setup up position at address and back to impact.

  • This is precisely the point Hogan tried to teach people as well. The movement of the "lower body"--the firing of the hips and knees and the hands and following the centrifugal force of that move!!

  • @theoryguy yes you are correct. not possible with normal grounding of club.

  • @theoryguy You are correct. The setup with club behind ball and backswing forces body to slide when backstroke made correctly from this position.

  • where are the other videos hogansquest

  • The most mis-understood move of Moe's! He was able to lead with the lower body on the down swing because he began the back swing already back of the ball.
