Indeed, what will Iraq (and the Persian Gulf) look like in 5 years. Shouldn't the next president have a clear vision of exactly how their endgame may impact the region, and our interests, going forward? You can bet the Republicans will be asking that question in the general election of any candidate who advocates an immediate withdrawal, or other such simplistic cure-all to this nightmare of our own making.
