@Varavaken We are responsible but I think we are the lucky generation who wasn't born into internet-pervaded world so we can at least make comparison and "rewind" now and then. The same can't be said about kids who started using search engines and mobile phones before they learned how to read and write. But then again, it's their parents' responsibility. Google is definitely making ME stoopid:-/
Msshelley, there is no going back, but we need to draw on lessons of past. Technology is moving so quickly,it surpasses any time to contemplate health &safety issues. This book is a mind-opener.What happens if schools are provided with laptops instead of books? Will there be room for a wireless free zone? What will long term direct feed from a computer do to a young undeveloped mind?Views of how past inventions have influenced our behavior, attitudes, etc. is especially interesting.ThanksMr.Carr!
@Vastvisionist At the same time do you want to go back to the days when they were not available? You can find information a lot faster on jstor.com than trying to find multiple peer-reviewed articles in several different places.
No thinking, just keep moving!Similar to drones used in war:out of sight-out of mind. What about cumulative high tech gadgets?Health safety of mind, body,& spirit must be first priority to protecting children, but there is a virulent push for high tech devices.Wireless devices, cell phones, laptops, smart meters,.have high EMFs&should’ve been regulated well before being sold&forced upon public&edu sys.3G phones are required in densely populated cities(if using cell phone).Main media covering this?
Because everyone is aware of it, but it's much more convenient not to think about it too much. Once I picked up a newspaper and read a news, them looked under to see the reader's comments!I felt so dumb! :-/

"Each of us, as individuals, is responsible for the choices we make about how we use or don´t use our minds."
That is true.
