Lol, most of these homemade games are like "huh, that's kinda neat, but not something you can really PLAY", but this one looks kinda fun with the aoe attacks haha.

Blender Game Engine is great, but it's just not powerful enough to make the awesome effects and the fast movement of so many objects. It's also harder to protect your 'code' from prying eyes. Ogre3D is a graphics library for C++, but you could try using it with other languages. Just don't expect it to be as fast.
