@cpac11 Liambias was also banned from the AHL for the same type of hit... People say he didn't mean to injure but I think otherwise... He's a thug

@MrKillerDolphins fractured skull, facial fractures, serious head injury and was on life support for several days after being air lifted to hospital. 2 yrs after the incident in Oct, 2009 he managed to return and played in his first game since the hit on Sept 23rd, 2011

Basically it was a body check but unfortunately at a bad spot. His head hit the hinges on the zamboni door (ive read this from other news sources and no not wikiedia). Its unfortunate that the injury is so severe but the punishment is a tad too much. I do hope Fanelli gets better.

players have learn to protect themselves when protecting or playing the puck on the boards too they should steer clear of lowering their heads hockey is a beautiful and physical sport
