Alaka Das is one of the best and finest classical singer of Bangladesh. She is a daughter of Classical Music maestro late Ustaad Suren Das Sangeet ratna.. She is also a well known artist of Nazrul geeti. She started her singing career in 1964, being enlisted in Radio Pakistan later Bangladesh Betar, Dhaka. Since 1964 till present she is singing classical music in Betar. Later she joined Banladesh Television as a nazrull geeti and Classical music artist. She also learn Nazrul geeti from her Uncle the legend Sudhin Das. Her husband is Professor Prity Ranjan Roy.In her life Aloka Das is awarded so many times. Main awards are, JAY JAY DIN Pacific Award In 1993 as the best Classical Music singer in the country, Porimol Datta Sriti Purosker, Chittagong Regional Conference Award, Nazrul Sommanona Purosker, Gunijon Sommanona by Jatri etc & etc.. She is the sister of Manas Kumar Das, one of the best nazrul geeti singer in bangladesh. At present she is the principal of
" Sangeet Shikharthi Sommilan", one of the oldest musical institution of Bangladesh founded in 1942 By her father Ustaad Suren Das.
