Apparently the official website for GT 5 previously had some information on the new game but was pulled down recently. Luckily, someone translated the information before it was pulledd own, check out all the features below:

Gran Turismo 5 has been announced! Here is the latest information on the game design:

1,000 vehicles
170 Premium new models (full interior modeling, the interior corresponds to vehicle damage)
830 kinds of standard model (some are from Gran Turismo 4 that have been carried over to GT5) [Read: Cars we have seen in GT4 before ]

■ Courses
60 courses confirmed with 20 or more to be revealed

■ physical simulation of vehicles
Physics system simulation is brand new
Represented is full fall in vehicles [possibly rollover]
Damage representation (reproduced in full by real-time collision deformation)
faithfully reproducing the behavior of electric cars, i.e. Prius, Insight, hybrid cars and the latest Tesla model

GT5 is only an advertisment, which is financed by the automobile manufacturers. Thats why the have no damage mod, because the automobile manufacturers dont want thats

@21680Boys In GT5 Prologue TV It said the main creator knows how it feels when your car crashes or takes damage people feel heartbroken and he says that is waht it has no damage, but in GT5 it will have damage like he said

@21680Boys the sounds looks and physics are already realistic enough, people wanting damage is just too demanding and should accept the fact that its a simulator and not a game all about crashing crap

All cars will have damage 200 cars will have dismembered pieces flying off. But Ferrari on the other hand only has scratches.
