@EvacuateTrailer The Grateful Dead decided not to play Altamont. The Stones should have made the same decision. Read the Wikipedia account. It was a freakout of epic dimensions hence the song "New Speedway Boogie." The only glimpse of sanity the whole day was Sneaky Pete playing soothing pedal steel while telling everyone to calm down.
