ANNIE OAKLEY & TAGG CARNATION MILK COMMERCIAL.. GAIL DAVIS & JIMMY HAWKINS

This is one of the many sponcers of The Annie Oakley Series('53-'57). ..CARNATION.
Annie (Gail Davis) and Tagg(Jimmy Hawkins) usually did their own commercials. Many of the stars of that era did the same.
Canada Dry and TV Time Popcorn was Annie's first sponcers. Then came Hostess...you know...Wonder Bread, Twinkies, Snow Balls, Cup Cakes etc. and Laura Scudders Potato Chips. Crest Toothpaste.

By 1956, Carnation was one of "ANNIE OAKLEY"'s primary sponsors on the West Coast, where Carnation Homogenized Milk [in the carton] was distributed (Dick Tufeld, announcer)- and the tradition at the time was, at the end of the program, the star of the show (and often the supporting cast) appeared in an "integrated commercial" for the sponsor's product- either a straight "pitch" {as seen here}, or a humorous vignette calling attention to the sponsor's product.
