  • Iowa Traction would be a awesome railroad to live near!

  • @claypiesexygod It's been a long time since I've talked to the guy that runs it, but it seems like he told me it runs on 770 volts dc. And that the engine they use most of the time was built in 1924, but some of the rolling stock they have is 20 years or a little more older. They still have some of the old inter-urban passenger cars, but most of it buned up in a fire back in the 1960's. Those horns are really loud.

  • what voltage is this? i assume its some sort of DC

  • This would be the south side of Mason City

  • they both date to the 1920's

  • how old is this train

  • A nice remaining oil proof interurban. The diesel monotony one sees in North America seems more ideological than economic given Peak Oil is with us.

  • Great video Jon! Really unique operation captured here.

  • DD-5s are single notes. It's probably an AA-2.
