@GPuddle Only the people who grew up back then will appreciate the BBC version. Obviously you and others your age are spoiled by the high tech special effects in the new movies of today. Please keep in mind that the BBC version was produced in the 80's. There was no CGI back then and special effects were cruder than what we have now. You really should learn how to judge a film or TV series according to the production standards of the time they were produced, NOT by modern standards.

Why are they doing this to us, indeed. Why are they doing this to LEWIS? The dear professor spins in his grave. Guess I'll wait to Netflix this one like I did with Caspian. Heartbreaking.

That's dumb. Aslan is the freaking King of Kings of Narnia. >:( Theyre changing it so much.

OH MY GOODNESS. Will she just die already?! Well, I mean, stay dead. Try don't need her in it. It just ruins the story. 7 swords?! Ughhhhhh. Hokay. Bad things:
1.white witch
2. 7 swords
3. Aslan needs swords???

@PassingTheLampPost See you can't prove yourself. You have nothing to offer. I hated that line in PC. I hope it is not repeated.

@TheNarnia24 "U narnia geek suck big time!!"
Is this were someone says, "Hooked on Phonics worked for you"?
Might I suggest writing in COMPLETE sentences if you're going to insult someone? And watch your spelling too... You don't spell awesome A-W-S-O-M-E. Nice try, Moron.

Oh honey... you make me just want to give you a big hug and let you cry it out...LOL I agree with a lot you say, but I'm still trying to reserve judgment until AFTER I see the movie. There's no use getting worked up over something that might change. Because if this was a test screening, they might be able to change some stuff on the cutting room floor if it wasn't accepted properly in the context that would flow properly.

I thought the BBC VDT was one of the best of the bunch. It was only 2 hours, unlike LWW and SC, which were 3 hours, and not rushed through in 1 hour like PC.
Ummm... What?
Hey, Walden Media, the BBC managed to make a faithful dramatic adaptation with a really small budget!

"Accurate" and "faithful" are not the same thing.
Take the Beavers dinner table scene for example. In the book, I'm on the edge of my seat as Mr. Beaver reveals exactly why the kids are there, the prophecy, who the witch is, and what must be done. The BBC version of this scene puts me to sleep.
Not everything that works in a book works in a movie. BBC didn't adapt Narnia at all.

I'm sorry GlumPuddle, I respect your opinion, but believe it or not, there are more people in the world who havn't read the books then people who have. Apted is a fantastic film maker, and I have faith that what ever changes he made to the story were made to unite the stories various adventures instead of having a hodge-podge asortment of little stories. This was most likely done to appeal to the audience as a whole, he can't please all the fans to sacrifise the income the movie could have.

This is very sad but very true.

By that I meant that it's sad if the filmmakers feel they must sacrifice the heart of the story in order to appeal to people who probably wouldn't like the books either. Why should I care if the film appeals to those people?
It's all about money. Taking a very unique book and turning it into a formulaic film for short-term commercial gain.
